Flight attendant and cabin crew jobs became scarcer during the recession and any that were advertised attracted huge numbers of applicants. As the world economy emerges from the gloom of the last two years the situation is starting to improve. Low cost airlines continue to thrive. They have opened up plenty of new routes and allowed more and more people than ever before to travel by plane. Budget carries have created jobs at an astonishing rate. When it comes to cabin crew, they have been employing recruits in their early twenties, with a view to retaining their services over a lengthy period of time.
The jobs situation has improved, but the number of potential candidates for flight attendant roles remains high. For many it's a dream job and a chance to travel the world. These days it's advisable to undertake a preparatory course before applying. Recognised and certified skills provide an obvious advantage over less well qualified applicants. Course providers often have links with the airlines themselves, so the benefits are obvious. Higher education qualifications and customer service experience are also valued highly. Flight attendant and cabin crew jobs are easier to obtain with these qualifications and skills.
