Contact Profile and Availability Explained-October, 2011

Many members have had trouble understanding the Contact Profile and Availability sections.

Help presentations are available to view or download here . Click the ‘Availability’ and ‘Privacy Settings’

We have created a tool for you to show your availability from ‘Long Term – No end date’ down to ‘Available next Thursday between 12:00 and 14:30’

There are many reasons for this. Some of our members are looking for long term permanent employment, whilst others a seeking short term contracts for days off in between shift patterns or weekend work. You can state this all in your availability and create as many different ones as you require.

The searching recruiters can see your availability prior to clicking on your profile and may choose only to view those who are currently available.

You can also create a contact profile for each availability that you create. Some members have only one contact telephone number, whilst others have multiple contact details for when they are different countries.

Please note that having a contact number or email address in the free text box of your CV will almost certainly be missed as your contact details are displayed to the recruiters in their own section.

Contact Profile

You can create a Contact Profile by selecting the ‘Privacy’ tab then selecting ‘Contact preferences’ from the sub heading.

This section will display exactly how you want to be contacted by telephone.

You must create a name for this particular profile to be saved, in order for you to distinguish it from other contact preferences you wish to create; ‘My UK Number’ or ‘Anytime’ for example.

Name the profile and select the dates when this particular profile is active.

Then click the add button in the Contact preference field.

This will allow you to enter your telephone number and select the actual days of the week and actual times of day when you prefer to be contacted by telephone, including accepting SMS text messages. Please note that all times are displayed in UTC.

If you have several telephone numbers for the same profile just click ADD to add another.

Don’t forget the international dialing code.

Your named Contact preference will also appear in a drop down menu in your availability section.

Availability

To create an availability select the ‘Availability’ tab.

Start by selecting the type of employment you are seeking by selecting from the employment drop down menu.

Then select the type of shift you would prefer to work from the shift type drop down menu. Select a contact profile from one you have previously created in your privacy section. This will display the contact telephone details that companies can use to contact you, or in the place where you’re available at that time.

Name this availability so it can be saved and added to your list, and then add the date available ‘from’. Leave the date available ‘to’ blank if you are seeking permanent employment or long term contracts.Add a ‘to date’ if it’s a term contact.

It may be wise to indicate in the comments box that you are required to give notice of termination to your present employers if that is the case.

We also provide a field for you to indicate a preferred location. If you prefer to work in particular airport because you live close by then enter the IATA 3 letter code or the ICAO four letter code in the airport predictive text box. This will automatically populate the country and region where the airport is situated. You can also just select a specific country or region.

Likewise, there may be places you have no intention of working, you have the choice of indicating this to companies if you so desire.

Again, help presentations are available here for the Availability and Privacy settings.

We hope this helps.

Please contact us if you have any difficulties.
