Basic pilot training is the starting point for anyone wishing to set out on a career flying commercial passenger aircraft. These pilot training courses teach aspiring aviators the basics of good practise and lay the foundation for a successful career in the aviation industry.
Interest in pilot training is growing rapidly thanks to a number of different factors. The number of passengers flying has boomed thanks to the rise of the low cost carriers. Business is now a global operation with executives travelling all over the world on behalf of companies and corporations. This in turn has led to a greater demand for pilots.
The aim of pilot training is to obtain a Commercial Pilot License (CPL). Once pilot training has been completed successfully, this license authorises qualified pilots to fly both passenger and cargo aircraft. Prospective pilots must complete 250 hours of time in the air.
They are subject to a stringent medical and must pass a written examination also. No one under the age of 17 can start pilot training. Training academies for pilots have sprung up in large numbers recently to cater for the aviation industry's increased demand for qualified personnel. Not all are reputable, so choose carefully if you are considering undertaking pilot training.
